| Description |
Used to be called the Royal Hotel, the Anderson, presumably following a healthy dose of republican sentiment, is in Cathedral Square at the centre of Fortrose in a listed building (of historical significance) mainly from the 1840s although the wine cellar is a couple of centuries older.
The nine guest rooms on the upper floor maintain their period charm but have all modern conveniences, en suite bathroom facilities and Sky TV.
The Cathedral restaurant has no pretensions but serves excellent and imaginative food sourced locally. In addition to the restaurant, the ground floor has a lively firelit pub and whisky bar. If you've come to Scotland to drink Belgian beers, welcome to vlaamse heaven ! The malt whisky selection, with around a hundred to motor through, is not bad either. |
