| Description |
Almost on the border with England, Comlongon Castle does concentrate heavily on the wedding market with two honeymoon suites but is, nevertheless, an atmospheric setting for a night's stay or a base for a golfing holiday in the south-west.
The 14th century keep with dungeons, spiral staircases and restored Great Hall, is one of the finest examples of this period of architecture in the country. Accommodation is provided in the adjoining Mansion House with its extensive Jacobean oak panelling.
All eleven bedrooms have en suite bathroom facilities, the two honeymoon suites having whirlpool baths, television, radio, direct dial telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. Most have four poster beds.
As one would expect with a property of this type it comes complete with a tragic love story and various ghosts. |
